Grateful Giving Foundation; Founded: 2023.

Our Mission: Grateful Giving Foundation (GGF) exists to create synergy and bring local non-profits together to more effectively serve our communities. GGF encourages the participation of affluent individuals in different regions to become vested in their respective communities. Additionally, GGF collects and administers funds for charitable and educational purposes for the public by promoting social welfare and community education, and also by networking and developing relationships with other organizations that qualify as non-profits.

Board President & Founder: Rick Young

Rick started his journey at Utica High School and went on to earn his Masters Degree from Michigan State University. While there, he became a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Rick danced in nine 50-hour marathons and helped raise over $100,000 for multiple sclerosis.

He went on to join the Jaycees in 1978, and from 1985-1986 he served as President of the Michigan Jaycees.

He is the founder of Rick Young Insurance and has been in the business for over 35 years.

He served as Vice Chairman on Shelby Township’s Waste and Recycling Committee that approved a single waste hauler.

He is a founding member of the Shelby Community Foundation.

In 2023, Rick gathered together a group of philanthropic minded people and created the Grateful Giving Foundation; which is focused on organizing events and funds to financially support local non-profit organizations and families.
